The Broward Sheriff's Office, Broward County Fire Rescue, and other departments will come together Monday to pay tribute to the courageous rescuers who gave their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11th.

Hundreds of local law enforcement and fire rescue personnel are expected to attend the memorial service Monday afternoon at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Honor guards from several departments will present the colors. Fire rescue trucks from throughout Broward County will line the road. Broward Sheriff Ken Jenne, Broward County Fire Chief Herminio Lorenzo, and others will share their thoughts, and a moment of silence will be observed in memory of the victims.

“The bonds of brotherhood among law enforcement and firefighters extends across America,” Sheriff Jenne said. “From their sacrifice we draw strength and inspiration.”
