Meat Delivery Truck Stolen with Hefty Load

PIO 12-6-12

A man making a delivery to a local business was left empty handed after someone stole his semi tractor trailer, which contained over $150,000 worth of meat.

The driver from NKD Logistics parked the truck containing the delivery for Associated Grocers, a food distributor, at around 7:45 a.m. May 29.  The driver parked the semi on the gravel at the entranceway of the business located at 1141 SW 12 Avenue in Pompano Beach and walked in to check in.  When he walked out to get the load, the truck was gone.

Video captured on a surveillance camera shows a white truck pull up behind the semi right after the driver parks.  Moments later a man exited the pickup and got in through the passenger side of the semi and drove it away.

Anyone with information about the meat caper is asked to contact BSO Detective Joel Rivero at 954-786-4210 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
