Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a woman in critical condition Thursday (Nov. 1) night in Deerfield Beach.

The victim, Stacy Peppers, 41, was walking to her car with her husband after visiting her mother-in-law at the Monaco Gardens Condominiums that evening. Peppers was crossing the 800 block of southeast 6 Avenue, from east to west, when she was struck. The driver raced from the scene heading southbound on S.E. 6 Avenue, then turned westbound on 10 Street toward Interstate 95.
