MAN DIES AT HANDS OF HIS BROTHER

Description of Incident:

Pompano Beach man shoots and then fatally stabs his younger brother in their home. Broward Sheriff's Office detectives investigate the homicide.

A report of a domestic incident and possible shooting in Pompano Beach came in at 3:55 p.m. BSO deputies responded to the home and discovered the victim, Saint-Ange Cemerant, 21, had been attacked and seriously injured by his brother, Dieuseul Cemerant, 23. Dieuseul confronted Saint-Ange and then shot his brother. A struggle ensued between the two men. Dieuseul then retrieved a kitchen knife and fatally stabbed his younger brother. Dieuseul fled the apartment on foot and was quickly apprehended by BSO deputies only blocks from the scene. Saint-Ange was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:02 p.m. by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue.
