STOLEN UMBRELLA KEEPS CAR BURGLAR DRY

PIO# 12-6-2

A suspect was recorded on surveillance video shortly before 4 a.m. April 28 breaking into cars in a Pompano Beach neighborhood located in the 300 block of Southeast 10 St.

The unidentified male, who was last seen wearing a black shirt with long blue jeans, can be seen checking for unlocked vehicles. Not to be deterred by the inclement weather, the suspect uses a pink umbrella taken from one of the vehicles to shield him from the rain as he pilfers through the unlocked cars.

BSO detectives remind residents that vehicle burglaries can be significantly reduced if they remember to lock their vehicles and remove any items of value from plain view.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call BSO Pompano Beach Det. Marcus Williams at (954) 786-4256 or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
