During a Friday afternoon ceremony, Broward Sheriff Ken Jenne will promote 31 BSO veterans from within the departments of Law Enforcement and Detention and Community Control.

From the Department of Law Enforcement, Commander George Atkinson is being promoted to Captain in the Child Protective Investigations section. Lieutenant Rickey Clarke is being promoted to Chief of BSO District-6, Court Services, and Lieutenant Daniel Cummings will be promoted to Chief of BSO Area-14, Port Everglades. Additionally, the following deputies from the Department of Law Enforcement are being elevated to the rank of Sergeant: David Argenti, Michael Carabine, Alexander Coto, Anthony DeMarco, Kenneth Erwin, Michael Lord, Raymond Morell, Stephen Sudman, Kevin Swanson, Jeanne Tedesco, and Joanne Tramonte.

Within BSO’s Department of Detention and Community Control, Captain Winnifred McPherson will be promoted to Major of South Operations, Lieutenant Antone Bradley is being promoted to Captain of the North Broward Bureau, Lieutenant William Lawhorn will be promoted to Captain, Central Intake, and Lieutenant E. Keith Neely will be elevated to the rank of Captain in the Compliance unit. Sergeants Louis Fontanazza, Willie Ford, Michael James, and Daniel Sokol are being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Also, within the Department of Detention and Community Control, nine deputies will get their sergeant stripes: Jean Barker, Josefa Benjamin, Greg Borders, Keith Cunningham, Luis Galindez, Kelvin Greenleaf, Gary Palkovich, Anthony Thompson, and Bobby Warren.

The promotion ceremony is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2002 at the Amaturo Theatre of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 SW 5th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale.
