Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff's Office Robbery detectives are seeking the public’s help in the hopes of identifying a group of serial restaurant robbers.

The unidentified black males are responsible for holding up restaurants in Lauderdale Lakes, North Lauderdale and Tamarac. The armed thieves usually strike late at night.

The suspects started their crime spree December 2nd at the Cooke’s Goose Restaurant, located at 3750 North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes. The four male suspects entered the restaurant just after midnight and robbed the patrons at gunpoint (only one handgun was seen) of cash and jewelry. No injuries were reported.

On December 16th two, from the same group of suspects, entered the China Duck through a rear door during closing time shortly before 10 p.m. The two armed bandits robbed restaurant employees of jewelry and cash. No injuries were reported.

The next day (December 17th), two of the suspects entered through the rear of the Bangkok Palace, located at 4345 North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes, around 10 p.m. The two desperados fled empty handed, and no one was injured.

The most violent robbery occurred New Year’s Eve around 8:30 p.m. when two of the suspects entered the front door of the China One restaurant at 1581 South State Road 7 in North Lauderdale and robbed the employees at gunpoint. One of the victims, who apparently didn’t react quickly enough to the suspects’ demands, received a deep cut on her head after being struck with the suspect’s gun. Without warning one of the suspects, fired several shots inside the restaurant, striking another victim in the hand. The suspects fled with the victims’ purse and wallets. The male and female who were assaulted were treated at Broward General Medical Center.

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspects is urged to call BSO Robbery Det. Lou Pugliese at (954) 321-4270 or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS.
