Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives have arrested a second man, Darius Slade, in the fatal shooting of Ferris Finley.
Slade and Larry Bostic set out to rob Finley during the wee hours of April 11 in unincorporated Broward County. Slade, who was working as a prostitute, was in Finley’s GMC pickup at 2744 N.W. Eighth St. when Bostic and another man approached the two in the truck. Bostic shot Finley, and his truck rolled away and into a pole. Bostic and the other man, who hasn’t been charged, fled. Slade also left the scene but returned a short time later.
Homicide detectives determined that Bostic, 38, and Slade, 21, who were dating, wanted money to celebrate Bostic’s upcoming birthday. On May 16, detectives arrested Slade in the botched robbery. Bostic was taken into custody April 21. Both men face murder charges.
