It’s that time of year again. The Broward Sheriff’s Office is hosting a free Uniting Broward event in partnership with Broward County Parks and Recreation on Saturday, April 29. The community showcase, which promotes diversity, safety and security, will start at 10 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. at Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill.
There will be activities and entertainment for all ages. Youngsters will enjoy the kids’ fun zone with bounce houses and paint the fire truck.
There will be demonstrations by BSO’s K-9 and Bomb and Arson units and SWAT team as well as a vehicle extrication by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel.
Everyone is sure to enjoy the band performances by Blanche Ely, Boyd Anderson and Dillard high schools. You can clap or step along with the Dillard High School Step Team. Be sure to visit the various exhibit booths for valuable information, and bring your folding chairs and a few dollars to grab lunch at one of the culturally-diverse food trucks.
Those attending Uniting Broward this Saturday should use the State Road 7 entrance and enter the park near the 30-foot American flag flown by Allegiance Crane & Equipment.
