Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide investigators are seeking the public’s help locating the driver who struck a pedestrian Friday morning and fled the scene.
The 52-year-old male victim was in the 2600 block of State Road 7, crossing the northbound lanes from west to east, when he was impacted by a 2006 to 2011 model, four-door, silver Honda Civic with dark tinted windows. The driver of the Civic made an immediate right after the collision into a residential neighborhood. The incident happened minutes after 5 a.m. The suspect’s vehicle is missing the cover of the driver’s side mirror and should have front-end damage to the driver’s side headlight, hood and possible damage to the windshield.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the victim to Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition, but is now said to be in fair condition and stable.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle is asked to contact BSO Traffic Homicide Detective Michael Wiley at 954-321-4840 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
