Walmart
3001 N. State Road 7, Lauderdale Lakes

Broward Sheriff Scott Israel will join 50 local children between the ages of 6 and 18 at the agency’s annual Shop with the Sheriff event, which has brightened the holiday season for many deserving youth and their families. The Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County is the sole sponsor of the event.

“I am so grateful to The Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County for making the holidays a little merrier for 50 deserving children,” Sheriff Scott Israel said.

For the past 15 years, the Broward Sheriff’s Office’s school resource deputy program has coordinated the event. Each child was chosen by a school resource deputy based on good conduct, academic effort and other related criteria. The deputies will coordinate transportation of the children and family members to Walmart in Lauderdale Lakes, will escort the children around the store and provide guidance about their purchases. Children will receive $100 each to purchase items of their choice.

Media note: Media covering the Shop with the Sheriff event should meet at the Walmart by 10 a.m.
