MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER EARLY MORNING SHOOTING

13-5-13

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for at least two gunmen who left a man in critical condition early Thursday morning during a robbery in unincorporated Broward near Ft. Lauderdale.

A portion of the crime was caught on camera.  Images from the Champion Food Store, 2409 N.W. 15 Ct., Ft. Lauderdale, show two men walking westbound on Northwest 15 Ct. in front of the business around 12:55 a.m.  Off camera, two men are playing craps and they spot one of the pedestrians take out a gun as the pair heads toward them.  The images show the two victims running away from the suspects as shots are being fired at them.  One of the victims falls to the ground and the suspects run past him as they chase the second victim.  Moments later, a black, two-door Pontiac G6 pulls up next to the wounded victim.  A man exits the passenger side of the car, searches through the victim’s pockets, gets back in the car and they drive away.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the victim to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition.

One of the suspects is described as a light skin, black male, of slim build, with a short crop hairstyle, seen wearing a white T-shirt.  The second suspect is a dark skin, black male, described as chubby, with long dreadlocks covered by a knit hat and wearing an orange shirt.

Anyone with information about this robbery, suspects or the getaway vehicle is asked to contact BSO Violent Crimes Detective Devoune Williams at 954-321-4235 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
