COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE AT BSO
Due to the recent events in New York and Washington, D.C., the Broward Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Community Blood Centers of South Florida, is hosting a blood drive to make sure the blood supply is adequate to meet on-going demands.
The blood drive will be held at the Ron Cochran Public Safety Building on Friday, September 14. The Public Safety Building is located at 2601 West Broward Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. Donations will be accepted starting at 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Donors must be 17 years old or older, weigh at least 100 pounds, and be in good general health. All blood types are welcomed; however, negative blood types and O positive are mostly needed.
In order to expedite the donation process, donors will be pre-screened in the lobby of the Public Safety Building before going to blood mobiles stationed outside to give blood.
MEDIA NOTE: Due to the high volume of calls, the Blood Center is asking that citizens refer to their website at www.cbcsf.org or call their toll free number at 1 (800) 357-GIVE for any questions or to get updated information.
