The Broward Sheriff's Office is leading the way to put a stop to a recent spate of vandalism that stretches from Palm Beach County to Plantation.

Since early November, a spineless gang of vandals has damaged tires on more than a thousand vehicles, costing victims thousands of dollars in towing and replacement charges.

To date, there have been as many as 150 reports of vandalism in Palm Beach County, nearly 50 in Boca Raton, about 40 in Deerfield Beach, up to 60 in Pompano Beach, as well as attacks in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Margate, Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, and Plantation.

In addition to felony charges, the vandals now face federal charges for having destroyed tires on IRS vehicles.

Investigators from the Broward Sheriff's Office are meeting regularly with detectives from several other cities as part of an inter-agency effort to catch the vandals.

Based on several good leads so far, BSO detectives feel confident that the criminals will be caught.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the tire vandals. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers. We want your information, not your name.
