BICYCLIST SHOT IN LAUDERDALE LAKES

Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responding to a call that someone was shot in the parking lot of a Lauderdale Lakes strip mall Tuesday night found an injured man with an apparent life-threatening gunshot wound. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue paramedics treated the man at the scene and transported him to Broward Health Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

The incident started at 8:56 p.m. when BSO Communications received a call about a shooting. Deputies patrolling nearby responded quickly and discovered the injured man, who had been riding a bicycle when he was shot. They set up a perimeter in the area and searched for his assailant using K-9, members of BSO's SWAT team and a BSO helicopter.

BSO Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information can report it to Det. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
