Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives received several Crime Stoppers tips from people identifying two suspects who stuffed items from a Pompano Beach convenience store into their pants and purse.
The theft occurred about 9:30 a.m. September 13 at the Shell gas station at 3101 W. Atlantic Blvd. The clerk told BSO detectives he was assisting other customers when he heard a noise and noticed a man behind the counter. The clerk said he told the customer that the area was for employees only. After the suspicious individual left the store, the clerk realized some electronic cigarettes were missing.
At that point, the clerk and his manager reviewed the surveillance video and saw the unidentified man stuffing several food items into his pants, while a second suspect, a female wearing a short dress, was stuffing items in her purse. Then the woman purchased a few small items in order to distract the cashier while her partner in crime swiped the e-cigarettes.
Surveillance video of the incident aired on local news October 18. Jesse Koff and Allyson Kenny were arrested October 23. Both face petit theft charges. Koff is being held without bond for violating his probation.
