LAUDERDALE LAKES PROCLAIMS TODAY “SHERIFF AL LAMBERTI DAY”

For 35 years as a faithful public servant and for his leadership and support of Lauderdale Lakes, city officials have declared today Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti Day.

The proclamation will be presented today at the city commission’s regular meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. It cites the sheriff’s long career as the first employee of the Broward Sheriff’s Office to rise through the ranks to become sheriff and the high quality of law enforcement and fire rescue services in Lauderdale Lakes.

The proclamation refers to the various public safety programs the sheriff has implemented in the city, including prevention programs for drowning, domestic violence, aggressive driving, synthetic drugs and gun violence, as well as National Night Out Against Crime, the Slam the Door on Scammers campaign, Operation Burglary Alert and Dress for Success at Boyd Anderson High School.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from Mayor Barrington Russell and the Lauderdale Lakes City Commission, and I look forward to many more productive and successful years of partnership with the city,” Sheriff Lamberti said.

The proclamation also mentions multiple national and local organizations the sheriff supports, including The Florida Sheriff’s Association, The National Sheriff’s Association, The Major County Sheriffs’ Association, The Florida FBI NA Chapter, The Broward Chiefs of Police, The Partnership for the Homeless, The Lauderdale Lakes Parks and Human Services Department, The Urban League of Broward County, The Junior Achievement Center, The United Way Commission on Substance Abuse, Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County, 100 Black Men of Fort Lauderdale, Broward CHAI Center, A Child is Missing, First Call for Help of Broward County (211), The American Cancer Society, Hispanic Unity, PACE Center for Girls, Women in Distress of Broward County and the YMCA of Broward County.
