Date: June 14, 2017                                          PIO Number: 17-6-9

The burglar is seen on surveillance video sauntering away from the victim’s van with about $180 worth of tools in a tote bag. He even has a smile on his face as he walks past a surveillance camera. When he returns into the camera’s view, he’s driving a gray sedan. He emerges from the car to steal one more thing from the Dodge Sprinter. That’s when the victim catches the burglar in the act and chases him. The suspect drops the pilfered saw and drives off.

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives hope that someone can identify the suspect from the video being released today.

The burglary unfolded around 8 a.m. June 1 at Martin Precise Products, 2329 N.W. 30th St. in Oakland Park. The suspect has medium-length dreads, a goatee and apparently a sparkling smile. He was wearing dark-colored shorts, a light-colored T-shirt and a medallion.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Detective Samantha Cottam at 954-202-3113. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
