DOGS SNIFF OUT BURGLARS BUT NOT BEFORE SUSPECTS GET AWAY

Date: May 10, 2017                                                PIO Number: 17-5-9

The barking dogs alerted the victim that something was amiss. He looked out his window and saw that his utility trailer’s door was open. Gone was $1,200 in lawn equipment. Now, Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing photographs of the suspects in the hopes that someone can identify them.

Around 2:30 a.m. April 12, the burglars broke into the trailer that was parked in the 4600 block of Southwest 43rd Terrace in Dania Beach. Equipped with gloves and a flashlight, they entered the trailer and swiped two orange and white Stihl leaf blowers.

One suspect has distinctive tattoos of musical notes on his right arm. He was wearing gloves, a T-shirt over a short-sleeve speckled hoodie. The other male, who has at least one tattoo on his right bicep, was wearing a T-shirt and gloves. They both took off in a dark-colored van, which was last seen going south on Southwest 43rd Terrace.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Det. Joseph Kessler at 954-926-2400. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
