Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives have arrested one of three suspects in a Pompano Beach home invasion. Dejuan Williams was arrested Wednesday morning and faces a charge of armed home invasion.
On Feb. 1, a family who had recently moved into their home unwittingly opened their door to robbers. The son had just returned from the corner store when he heard a knock on the door. He looked through the peep hole, didn’t see anyone and proceeded to open the door. That’s when Williams and two other males barged into the home. The family of three were held at gunpoint by one suspect while the other two robbers combed the house looking for a safe, drugs and guns despite the residents’ protests that none was there.
Williams and the other robbers left after taking the family’s cash, Xbox 360 and cellphone. The victims believe the thieves were looking for a previous tenant.
