GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT TAKES DANGEROUS TURN

Date: May 10, 2017                                   PIO Number: 17-5-11

Walking home from their neighborhood bar and grill on a Saturday night, two women were robbed and physically assaulted at gunpoint by four young males. Robbery detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the robbers, one of whom was captured by security cameras about 50 minutes after the robbery at a Chevron gas station in Hollywood.

The victims were walking just after 2 a.m. April 29 from Kahuna Bar & Grill, located at 249 N.E. 21st Ave. in Deerfield Beach, when two young males jumped out of a car. They each held a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings. One of the robbers grabbed one of the victims by the wrist and then pushed her to the ground. She was able to get up and run with her belongings.

The second woman was unable to run. The thieves grabbed her by her hair, pulled her to the ground and got away with her backpack containing her cash, phone and personal items.

The all-male crew is described as being in their teens or early 20s. They drove a green four-door car.
