PERHAPS THE BURGLAR WANTED A LATE-NIGHT ICY TREAT

A suspect tried to break into a Lauderdale-By-The-Sea ice cream shop and, now, Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are hoping someone can help identify the burglar.

The suspect is seen in surveillance video around 2 a.m. April 10 walking near the Kilwins at 117 Commercial Blvd. He damaged the rear door handle during his failed attempt to either get an icy treat or burglarize the business.

In the video, he’s dressed in a long sleeve shirt, shorts and flip-flops. He has a tattoo on his left leg.

Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
