Description of Incident:
On a recent Saturday night, a man at an upscale Fort Lauderdale restaurant ran into an attractive woman he had met previously. She said her name was Crystal. The two chatted, and they went to his Pompano Beach house.
She made him a cocktail – a vodka drink that took her about a half hour to make. He took a sip while she drank directly from the bottle. The next thing he remembers, he was waking up the following afternoon. Crystal was gone, along with about $6,000 in cash and four high-end watches that he kept in a case in his bedroom. She even deleted her contact information from his cell phone. The watches - two Rolexes, one Cartier and one Paniere - are valued at $80,000 - $100,000.
Broward Sheriffs Office detectives believe the woman known as Crystal may have drugged 45-year-old Robert Cournoyer and stolen his property. BSO Detective John McMahon worked with the victim to create a composite sketch of Crystal, who may be Hispanic and in her late 20s. Detectives are investigating similar cases that may involve Crystal or other women.
Anyone with information about Crystal should contact Det. Ron Cusumano at (954) 786-4200 or report information anonymously at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org. Crime Stoppers or Broward County will pay up to $1,000 for an anonymous tip that leads to an arrest.
Media note: A composite sketch is attached to this news release.
