BSO & SANTA TO CHEER HOSPITALIZED GIRL
BSO AND SANTA TO CHEER HOSPITALIZED GIRL
A little girl on the mend after being hit by a car in Weston two weeks ago will get a surprise visit from Santa Claus on December 20, 2001.
Knowing that 6-year old Allison Lazear was laid up during the holidays, the staff, parents and students of Everglades Elementary School along with BSO school resource officers decided to lead an effort to brighten the little girl’s recovery.
At 11:00 am on Thursday the 20th at Broward General Medical Center, Allison’s parents will be presented with tickets to Disney World and donations collected through efforts of The Broward Sheriff's Office, Western High School’s 9th Grade Annex, and the teachers, students, and parents of Everglades Elementary School.
Then, Santa will make a surprise visit to Allison’s hospital room at The Chris Evert Children’s Hospital at Broward General to make sure she knows she hasn’t been forgotten this holiday season.
A car struck Allison the afternoon of December 4th, 2001, as she was on her way home from Everglades Elementary School. Allison’s condition continues to improve, but she will likely be hospitalized for a while longer.
MEDIA PLEASE NOTE: There will be an opportunity for you to get some footage/photos of Allison’s parents gratefully accepting the well wishes and donations from the community at BGMC, 11:00 am the day of the event. For more information, contact Media Relations at (954) 831-8300.
