BSO SEEKS HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER

Description of Incident:

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for tips to help identify a hit-and-run driver who left a bicyclist with serious injuries after a Feb. 24 crash on Commercial Boulevard.

The cyclist, 62-year-old William Mahon of Delray Beach, had just turned westbound on West Commercial Boulevard from North Andrews Avenue at 8:14 p.m. Feb. 24 when a light-colored sports utility vehicle hit him. Mahon was thrown from his bicycle and landed about 15 feet away near the southbound on-ramp to Interstate-95. The vehicle fled southbound on I-95. It may have damage to its right front or right side.

Oakland Park Fire Rescue transported Mahon to Broward Health North Medical Center with several broken bones and other internal injuries. He remains in the hospital.
