CLUMSY CROOK DROPS DOUGH FLEEING FROM SUBWAY

PIO 14-8-13

A pair of armed robbers cleaned out a Pompano Beach Subway Wednesday night but left a mess behind.

The entire robbery was caught on surveillance video.  Just after 9:30 p.m., one of the suspects calmly walks into the eatery and approaches customers at a table, while his accomplice walks straight toward the back of the restaurant.  The pair orders the victims into the bathroom and ushers them down the hallway, then turns around to search for the money.  One suspect begins to exit the store, while the other reaches over the counter and grabs the register.  As he pulls and yanks the register, he drops the money drawer and accidentally fires off a bullet.  The two fled on foot.

The store employee locked the door to the back room and hid while the robbery took place.

Luckily, no one was injured.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about this robbery is asked to contact BSO Robbery Detective Theophilus Woulard at 954-321-4270 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org.  A reward of up to $3,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
