DISPUTE OVER AUTO REPAIRS ENDS IN MAN’S DEATH

Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating a business dispute that left a 28-year-old man dead in Pompano Beach.

Just before 9:40 a.m. May 19, Richard Buchanan approached the owner of an auto repair shop at 2100 N. Powerline Road. Buchanan and the owner, William Mann, began to argue about repairs made to the victim’s 2004 Lexus IS 300. While the two were arguing, witnesses said that Mann shot Buchanan one time.

The victim was taken by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue to Broward Health North where he was later pronounced dead. Mann remained at the scene. The homicide investigation continues.
