SUSPECT IN CHEVRON SHOOTING TURNS HIMSELF IN

Anthony Milliner, 23, of Pompano Beach, who was wanted by Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives for the April 30 shooting at a Deerfield Beach Chevron gas station, turned himself in Tuesday evening. Milliner faces two counts of attempted 2nd-degree murder and is currently being held without bond at BSO’s Main Jail. Michael Lee Sheppard, 23, and Darris Hicks Jr., 25, both of Pompano Beach, were injured in the early-morning shooting. The BSO Office of Media Relations is currently working a developing incident regarding a shooting with injuries located at: 3601 N. Dixie Highway, Deerfield Beach.

At 3:57 a.m., Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a shooting at a Chevron gas station in Deerfield Beach. An earlier dispute among several adult males apparently led to a fight at the gas station, during which a person or persons shot two men. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported both victims to North Broward Medical Center as trauma alerts. BSO's Crime Scene and Violent Crimes unit detectives will investigate to determine what circumstances led to the shooting. Anyone with information about the shooting can report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Broward County at (954) 493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for anonymous information that leads to an arrest.

BSO detectives investigating the early-morning shooting at a Chevron gas station in Deerfield Beach have released the names of the two victims, who remain at North Broward Medical Center. They are 23-year-old Michael Lee Sheppard and 25-year-old Darris Hicks Jr., both of Pompano Beach. Detectives say there were about 50 other people at the gas station when Sheppard and Hicks were shot. They had been patrons of Club Tropicante, 4250 N. Dixie Hwy., Deerfield Beach, before convening at the gas station. Anyone with information about the shooting can report it to BSO Det.
