COGNAC BURGLAR STEALS ONLY THE FINEST

Description of Incident:

A burglar with expensive taste was captured on video shoplifting a $1,000 bottle of rare cognac from an Oakland Park liquor store. Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the selective thief with a taste for the finer things.

At 6:24 p.m. on New Year’s Eve an unidentified man forced open the locked glass display case that housed a $980 bottle of Hennessy Paradis Extra Rare Cognac at the ABC Wine and Spirits store in Oakland Park. The man was captured on surveillance video as he slid open the glass case and hid the expensive bottle of Hennessy under his clothing before walking out of the store. He didn’t steal any other items.

The suspect is a white male, approximately 5’9”, about 175 pounds, with short, black hair. He was wearing a blue shirt, jean shorts, black shoes and glasses on his head.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Roger Frey at 954-202-3131 or report anonymous tips to Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or to www.browardcrimestoppers.org online. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
