A Kwik Stop store clerk was just outside the closed business when two crooks robbed him of his car. Today, Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing surveillance video of the strong armed robbery in the hopes that someone can identify the suspects.

It’s around 11:10 p.m. April 17 and the victim is cleaning out his car in front of the shuttered Pompano Beach store at 110 N.W. 15th St. when one of the suspects asks him if the store is open. The employee says no, and the male pretends to walk away. However, the video shows the suspect quickly return, punch the clerk in the head and rob him of his car keys. The suspect’s cohort then callously steps over the victim, who lies unconscious on the ground, and takes off with the victim’s 2013 Toyota Camry. The victim’s car was later recovered.

The male suspect who landed the punch is described as wearing a short-sleeve hoodie with distinctive stitching, dark-colored shorts and slide sandals. The second male suspect sports a hoodie, jeans and sneakers.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office Det. Trevor Goodwin at 954-321-4275. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
