The Broward Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Highway Patrol as well as Margate, Coral Springs, Lauderhill, Coconut Creek and Plantation police departments participated in the aggressive driving operation from 8 p.m. to midnight Thursday, Dec. 19.
Around 10:45 p.m., a BSO deputy saw a Chevy Trailblazer heading northbound onto the southbound Sawgrass Expressway exit ramp at Commercial Boulevard. The 50-year-old driver told the deputy she had been at a birthday party at a local restaurant. She was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and driving the wrong way.
This operation was part of an ongoing effort by the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the Broward County Aggressive Driving Task Force to combat aggressive driving, which includes speeding, tailgating, recklessly changing lanes and other dangerous driving behavior.
