LOOSE CHANGE ROBBER WANTED DOLLARS

PIO# 13-6-11

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are releasing surveillance video of a man counting his change in an attempt to pay for something at a convenience store. However, once the cash drawer opens, he reaches for the money inside the register and flees.

The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. May 7 at the Chevron gas station at 7100 W. McNab Rd. in North Lauderdale.

Initially the man walks around the store browsing through the merchandise.  He grabs a beverage and approaches the checkout counter with a dollar bill and loose change.  The suspect asked the clerk to add a cigar to his purchase. When the register popped open, the suspect reached for the money and fled.  He was seen getting into a 1994-95, gold, four-door Toyota Camry.

The suspect is in his early to mid 30s, approximately 5’7” tall, has short, black hair with a receding hairline and was last seen wearing denim shorts, a neon yellow shirt and sunglasses on his forehead.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Detective Alexander Briz at 954-722-5800 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
