What has two floppy ears, a cotton tail and is sure to bring smiles to bedridden children? A Broward Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Explorer, of course.

On Sunday, a BSO Explorer dressed like the Easter bunny and other Explorers will visit about 100 children at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital who are too sick to scoop up candy-filled plastic eggs on their own.

The young patients will also be showered with gifts such as plush toys donated by The Easter Bunny Foundation and BSO.

The Easter Bunny Foundation is an Orlando-based non-profit that puts smiles on the faces of children in hospitals across the nation during the week of Easter. BSO Explorers is comprised of teens and young adults who are interested in community service and policing. They undergo a rigorous program that requires them to maintain good grades, learn patrol procedures and serve the public with pride.

MEDIA NOTE: RSVP to BSO’s Public Information Office by 4 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017. An accurate headcount is needed for security purposes.
