Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office investigators believe it’s just a matter of time before someone identifies the woman who was captured on surveillance video lifting a $2,200 designer watch from a security checkpoint at a Hollywood courthouse.
The victim, Fred Frederic, arrived shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the South Regional Courthouse, located at 3550 Hollywood Blvd. As GS4 security officers ushered Frederic through the security checkpoint, he inadvertently left his black Gucci watch behind. Surveillance video shows a woman, wearing a scarf fashionably tied around her head, directly behind Frederic grab her purse then the expensive timepiece from the security bin.
Broward Sheriff’s Office investigators said the unidentified woman made no attempt to turn the watch in to lost and found, and she left the courthouse without completing any business. The suspect, who is believed to be between 20 and 30 years old and weighing between 160 and 200 pounds, is seen leaving the courthouse about one minute after entering.
