Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff's Office robbery detectives are trying to identify and locate some suspects who stole more than a dozen firearms from an Oakland Park pawnshop after tying up the owner.

BSO deputies were alerted to the armed robbery at the OP Guns & Pawn, located at 5066 North Dixie Highway, around 1:30 Monday afternoon after the owner, Sandy Diamond, call 911.

Diamond told BSO robbery detectives two black males entered his pawn shop and asked him a few questions about his merchandise before one of them pointed a handgun to his head and told him to lie down on the floor. The second suspect was busy stealing about 12 assorted handguns and two high-powered rifles (one similar to an AK-47 and the other used for hunting). The suspects also took a box of ammunition and cleaned out a large safe filled with jewelry.

Diamond said the second suspect took him to the back of the shop and tied him to a water heater. While Diamond was in the back with the second suspect, he heard voices of two male suspects in the front of the store. The second suspect is described as a black male about six feet two inches tall, approximately 180 pounds, and is believed to be in his early 20’s. He was wearing a flannel shirt and baggie clothes. The description of the possible third suspect is unknown.

BSO robbery detectives released a composite sketch of the first suspect who was armed with a handgun. He is also a black male about six feet two inches tall, approximately 200 pounds, between 21 and 24 years old, wearing a light colored skull cap, a long sleeve blue shirt with a white t-shirt underneath, and a pair of khaki pants.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call BSO Robbery Det. Bob Kerr at (954) 321-4270 or call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
