Description of Incident:
A burglar was caught on surveillance video as he broke into a fenced lot in Oakland Park, selected a fishing boat, hitched it to his truck and drove it away. Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for the criminal.
Todd Coningsby, 53, came to work the morning of February 3 and found that the lot adjacent to his business, where he stored his boats had been broken into. The burglar can be seen on security video as he arrived in a white Ford F-250 and cut the lock on the fence to again access to the green, 19 foot, 1996 Hewes Flats fishing boat parked inside. The boat had been stored alongside two other boats in the compound on the south side of the business and had a black, 200hp, Mercury outboard engine attached. The thief broke the lock on the boat trailer, then backed up his truck and pulled the trailer, boat and engine out of the lot.
