Description of Incident:


A 19-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon as he hung out with three friends in a Pompano Beach apartment. Broward Sheriff’s homicide detectives say the shooting may have happened as one of the four friends, 20-year-old Adiel Jaramillo, played recklessly with a handgun.

After the 2:48 p.m. shooting, Jaramillo ran from the apartment. He is a known gang member with a criminal history and may be armed. He is facing charges of manslaughter, tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is believed to be on foot.

The victim, Michael Cornelio, died at the scene.
