Nova Southeastern University
Don Taft Arena
3100 College Ave., Davie
Teams will face off to raise funds for the James Jones Legacy Foundation (JJLF), which sponsors the Crew 22 Training Camps for underprivileged students. There will be two games: firefighters vs. law enforcement and Miami-Dade All-Stars vs. Broward All-Stars. The All-Star teams will pit law enforcement and fire personnel from each county against each other.
The Cadillac Charity Basketball Tournament is one of the many highlights of the James Jones Crew 22 three-day camp being held from July 30-Aug. 1 at Nova Southeastern University. In this first year of partnership between the Broward Sheriff’s Office and the JJLF, BSO school resource deputies selected deserving students from Broward County schools between the ages of 11 and 14 to participate in the fun and educational experience. The enrichment camp, which is free for participants, engages kids in sports activities, takes them on college campus tours and provides mentoring sessions focused on social development, community service, leadership, nutrition, decision making, financial responsibility and other topics.
General Admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Don Taft Arena or your nearest BSO district office. Tickets to the V.I.P. Watch Party, which begins at 6 p.m., are available for $250. It includes dinner and beverages in the VIP Club Room, silent auction and an exclusive meet and greet with James Jones. For more information call 954-831-8902 or visit www.jamesjones22.com.
