MISSING OAKLAND PARK BOY RECOVERED FROM LAKE
The search for Samuel Sabin ended tragically shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 19 when Broward Sheriff’s Office divers pulled his lifeless body from a lake behind his apartment complex.
According to his family, 9-year-old Sabin was last seen between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Monday, June 18 playing near his residence, the Crystal Lake Apartments, located at 4160 NW 21st Ave. in Oakland Park.
After family members reported Sabin missing about 9:50 p.m. Monday, BSO deputies and detectives descended on the apartment complex conducting a door-to-door search, canvassing the neighborhood, checking on sexual predators in a one-mile radius, a BSO helicopter searched the surrounding areas and nearby lakes and canals. BSO’s Missing Persons Unit also received assistance from a Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office bloodhound.
