Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office Weston detectives are searching for two burglars who in one night, got into 11 cars, got away with two handguns and got captured on surveillance video.
The night of April 7, neighbors of the Villas of Bonaventure community in Weston realized they had been targeted by burglars searching for unlocked cars. The two men were able to get into 10 unlocked cars in the community. They rummaged through the vehicles until they came upon something worth stealing. What they found was a handgun left in the glove compartment of an unlocked car. Less than half a mile down the road, in the 400 block of Ranch Road, the burglars found a second gun left in the car’s center console.
Security footage from one home shows one of the burglars as he walked up to a car and tested the door to see if it had been left unlocked. The man appears to be a white or Hispanic male with a thin, athletic build. He was wearing a baseball cap, a tank top, jeans and sneakers.
