The Sheriff's Foundation of Broward County
The Sheriff's Foundation of Broward County was created in 1999 to promote public safety through education, public awareness and charitable activities. Funding for the foundation is through private donations.
Among the special funds and projects supported by the Sheriffs Foundation are:
- The Fallen Heroes Fund provides support to the families of deputies and fire rescue personnel who fall in the line of duty. The Fallen Heroes Fund is an excellent way to recognize and honor deputies and fire rescue personnel who have provided exceptional service. Gifts to this fund are fully tax deductible.
- The BSO Fund is the general fund of the foundation, which helps support a wide range of community relations, community education, and new service programs at Broward Sheriff's Office.
- Special Honor / Memorial Funds have been created for several deputies who have died or been seriously injured in the line of duty. There are funds for
The Sheriff's Foundation of Broward County is a separately incorporated 501(c)(3) organization. All gifts, except those to certain funds for the benefit of the families of fallen deputies or fire rescue personnel, are fully deductible to the extent permitted by the IRS Code. The foundation's IRS form 990 may be found on guidestar.org.
