Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport
With nearly 800 flights each day, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport hosts approximately 24 million passengers each year. The Airport has become an economic engine for Broward County with more than a $2.3 billion annual economic contribution and is Broward County's largest employer.
BSO works with the Broward County Aviation Department, the Transportation Security Administration, the Airline Managers Association, airport tenants and ancillary federal agencies to provide law enforcement and fire rescue protection for the 18,000 acre airport site and its 11,000 employees.
Fire Rescue

BSO provides fire rescue services at the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, including structural firefighting, aircraft rescue firefighting and emergency medical services. Personnel from the Fire Marshal's Office provide prevention services such as new construction plans review, annual fire inspections and the fueler inspection program that includes training classes for employees.
The Fire Rescue Command has an annual operating budget of approximately $ 8 million and provides for 67 positions including, an assistant fire chief, four battalion chiefs, three fire captains and other firefighters/paramedic positions.

BSO provides law enforcement services for the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and handles security measures related to parking and general airport security.
The district has an annual operating budget of approximately $14 million and provides for 147 positions including a district chief, two lieutenants, ten sergeants, 82 deputies and other positions.
