Description of Incident:

A Tamarac home filled with celebration Saturday night became the scene of a fatal fire early Sunday morning.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on November 15, the Broward Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received 911 reports of a fully-engulfed residential fire in the 6000 block of Woodland Point Drive in Tamarac. Units from Tamarac Fire Rescue, BSO Fire Rescue and other neighboring fire departments responded to the scene.

As a result of the fire, two adults died at the scene, and a third victim, 27-year-old Nicholas Figueroa, was transported to Florida Medical Center where he was treated for smoke inhalation. One of the deceased victims lived at the house. He has been identified as 26-year-old Daniel Arnodo. The other victim who died at the scene is presumed to be a female who lived in Coral Springs. BSO homicide investigators have notified her parents; however, they are not releasing her name until positive identification is made.

Figueroa did not live at the home of the fatal fire. Friends and family gathered at the home Saturday night for a birthday party and to watch the Pacquiao/Cotto boxing match.

Investigators said the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but it does remain under investigation.
