Community Affairs is responsible for all public safety initiatives, printed material, BSO's internal and external websites and all employee communication. The agency's website has been hailed as one of the most comprehensive and advanced sites in public safety.
The Community Affairs Division seeks to create timely crime prevention materials to get important information out to the public. Production includes the development of an attractive design concept, relevant content and graphic design and production.

- Operation Medicine Cabinet (Prescription Drug Prevention)
- Identity Theft (Shred-A-Thon)
- Drowning Prevention
- Gun Violence Prevention
With technology constantly evolving, the Broward Sheriff's Office recognizes the importance of utilizing social media to connect with the community at large. The Community Affairs Division manages the agency's Facebook and Twitter accounts to ensure information is being filtered to the public in "real time."
