Description of Incident:

At approximately 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of shots fired at the Kwik Stop located at 7120 Kimberly Blvd. in North Lauderdale. Upon arrival, they found Renber Lopez on the ground; he had sustained a single gunshot wound.

Surveillance images captured the moments when an unidentified male (pictured below) approached Lopez armed with a handgun. The shooter fired a single shot at the victim. That’s when Lopez collapsed, and the suspect fled on foot. Detectives believe he may reside in the North Lauderdale area.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, in his early 20s, approximately 5 foot 6 inches tall, with a thin build, short brush cut and a tattoo on the inside of his forearm.

The suspect arrived in a blue, older-model Toyota four-door sedan, possibly a Corolla or Camry. There were other occupants in the car who were not involved in the shooting.
North Lauderdale Fire Rescue stabilized the victim and transported him to Broward Health North.
